Roy Cramer focuses his practice on real estate development, financing, acquisition and disposition, leasing, conveyancing and land use/environmental permitting. He has extensive experience with local zoning and subdivision matters, wetlands permitting, MEPA and DEP regulatory matters and evaluation of hazardous waste issues. He has been involved with remediations of contaminated sites and due diligence analyses for real estate transactions. Roy actively represents developers in connection with office buildings, shopping centers, multi-family housing (including affordable housing projects), as well as permitting for restaurants and other commercial businesses. His environmental practice includes permitting with local conservation commissions, as well as administrative practice with the Department of Environmental Protection and related appeals. Roy is an experienced conveyancer for both commercial and residential properties. He also advises corporations on environmental issues in corporate structuring, acquisitions and divestitures, and represents them in enforcement matters at the State and Federal level. In addition, he has developed an expertise in mental health law, including guardianships, conservatorships, and civil commitment proceedings.
Roy received his bachelor’s degree in History from Wesleyan University, cum laude, and his law degree from Boston University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts in Massachusetts, the United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association. He is active in community affairs and has served as Chairman of the Needham Conservation Commission since 1983. |
